Kanwal Foundation is passionate about leading the way for the future STEM workforce. Through scholarships, grants, and mentorship programs, we provide educational opportunities to prepare the next generation of medical professionals and technology leaders.
Scholarship Programs
This foundation funds scholarships annually for students who have achieved academic excellence, have exemplified a passion to serve the community they represent, and demonstrated the potential to be future medical professionals or technology leaders. Priority will be given to candidates who meet the above criteria and are struggling through any special difficulty.
The foundation is looking to award scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students currently attending or applying to an accredited U.S. college or university, residing in the United States, and pursuing a STEM-related field.
Application Deadline: May 15, 2023
Award: Up to $30,000
Eligibility:
Must be a resident of California, United States
Must fall into one of the below categories:
Must be pursuing a STEM-related undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited U.S. university with a GPA of 3.8 or higher
Must be an applicant for medical school in 2022 for the 2023-24 school year with MCAT score of 510 or higher
Must be an applicant for graduate school for the 2022-23 school year
Must demonstrate good character and an attitude of selfless service through a consistent history of volunteer activities
Must have a genuine need for financial support
Application
Applicants are required to answer the following short essay questions:
1. Please tell us a bit about yourself and what specifically motivates you. If you could do anything with your life, what do you imagine you’d do?
2. What excites you about the STEM field you have chosen? How do you feel you could make a positive impact on the world as a STEM professional?
3. Please describe the greatest challenge you are currently facing and how this scholarship would help you overcome that?
